Hernia genital area?

female related... on Sunday night I was badly constipated so straining to go to the toilet, but since Monday early hours I have noticed a lump under the skin to the right of my genitals just above my right butt cheek, could it be a hernia as trying to see my GP at the moment is pretty hard due to to COVID etc... see pic for exact location

Re: Hernia genital area?

Hi jules2k9,

Thank you for posting on the forum and hopefully other members may be able to help you. It sounds that possibly a vein could have swollen due to the straining. We would advise to keep an eye on it and it may go down on its own accord. In the meantime we would urge you to get at least a telephone appointment with your GP where you can explain the situation and see how they would like to proceed.

Kind regards

Re: Hernia genital area?

It sounds like a Bartholin's cyst.
