Cramping 4 or 5 days after ovulation each month

I have a copper iud and since I started tracking I've realised that I get cramps 4 or 5 days after ovulation every month. Googling just brings up implantation bleeding and no other suggestions, does anyone know why this might be happening? As far as I know it wouldn't be the egg trying to implant because the copper is supposed to kill the sperm before that happens. Before copper I was on hormonal birth control so I never had a regular cycle to know if this is directly linked to the iud.
