Hot sweats
Hi my name is Carole and I have just registered on your site hoping for advice. I am 66 years of age and have been having hot sweats for over 10 years now and I am getting desperate.
No sleep, depressed, weight gain no energy or just can't be bothered, thinning hair, panic attacks, worrying, ect., this has been going on for well over 10 years now I was on HRT 5 years ago but my doctor stopped it as I had been on them for 5 years. I had a hysterectomy at age 35 but my overies were still intact, I also have high blood pressure of which I have had since having children 40 yhears ago but have been on medication since early I was 30. I am getting desperate now as it is effecting my every day life, can you please help.

Re: Hot sweats
You sound like you are really going through it! Another post on this forum suggests sage for hot flushes, have you tried that?

Re: Hot sweats
I have read about special bedding you can buy and also special clothing that can help to keep you cool. Also, I've just posted in the HRT section - wondering now if taking HRT can help with the hot sweats - just a thought.

Re: Hot sweats
The hot sweats is one of the worst parts of the menopause for me, especially at night. It really makes it hard for me to sleep and my husband doesn't understand that his body heat makes things worse! Even over the coldest nights recently I've had to have the bedroom window open and everyone in the house keeps complaining how cold our bedroom is. I know their is specialist bedding to help but at a huge cost which I can't afford. I guess it will have to be the bedroom window for now!
Re: Hot sweats
Hot sweats, migraines, sleepless nights, pains, itching. I've suffered them all, and tried all the recommendations, vitamin e, black cohosh, agnus castus, (this helped slightly) and many potions that were guaranteed to help the symptoms of menopause . You name it, i have tried it, all the expensive and big named brands.
The solution....... Magnesium and Vitamin B and Calcium and vitamin D. All for the grand cost of £3.50. I no longer suffer from the above and at a fraction of the cost . I would suggest you do research on google there is a long list of ailments associated with lack of magnesium. And apparently 90% of the population suffer due to lack of magnesium. It also helps with anxiety and depression which often accompanies the symptoms of menopause. And helps to regulate and maintain weight.
I just wish I had found this out sooner. I feel full of energy and my purse is a lot fuller too.
Also just thought I would mention, I was on the most expensive drugs for migraine, and found a quarter of an aspirin works equally as well. Again for the grand price 16p a pack.
I hope this post helps someone and I wish you the best of luck!
