HRT

Hi,
I would like to know if it's possible to delay a period when taking Elleste Duet 1mg HRT?

Thanks.

Re: HRT

Thanks for your question.

It is not normally recommended to delay a period when taking Elleste-Duet.

Elleste-Duet is cyclical HRT medication (where progestogen is taken for 12 to 14 days of each 28-day cycle) and ladies who take it usually have a regular bleed towards the end of the 28-day cycle of tablets. I would recommend that you discuss this with your Doctor; one course of action might be that your Doctor decides to switch you to a continuous combined HRT (where a combination of oestrogenand progestogen is taken, usually in a single tablet, throughout a 28-day cycle) which avoids a regular bleed - although irregular bleeding may occur during the early stages of treatment.

Hope this helps but please get back in touch if you need any further information.

Best wishes,

Rod.
