Re: Menopause

Hello,

Thank you for your query. During the menopause significant hormonal changes occur - the loss of oestrogen and relative rise in male hormones (androgens) can lead to diffuse shedding and thinning of hair with a loss in volume in many women. There are medications ie HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and anti-androgens which can help limit some of these effects on your hair but as with all hormonal treatments they can come with potential risks and side effects which would need to discussed with you by your GP/hair specialist.

Unfortunately I am unable to answer your query relating to the persistent stomach changes post fibroid surgery and would advise you see your GP/gynaecologist about this.

I hope you manage to find some resolution to your concerns.

best wishes

Sharon
