Please advise best treatment for a bad case of Impetigo all over my forehead and travelling down towards my right eye!
Am on some antibiotics from my doctor, have used E45 for the itching but have had it since Saturday , does it normally last this long please?

Hi there,

Thank you for your query.

Impetigo should respond quite quickly to oral antibiotics. If there is underlying eczema this should be treated at the same time as the infection, with appropriate strength steroid creams. If despite this, the skin is not getting better the diagnosis of impetigo would need to be reconsidered but also I would suggest your GP takes a swab of your skin to look for any possible resistant organisms which may explain why you are not responding to standard antibiotics.
