Thank you for your question.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is proven to be effective in addressing symptoms of severe social anxiety where the goal is to build confidence, learn skills that help you manage the situations that scare you most, and then get out into the world. The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy is to provide techniques and practice so that individuals with social anxiety disorder can learn to change how they think about and behave in situations that terrify them. Often, a support group which focuses on social anxiety can feel encouraging as you are with others who are similar and are able to discuss it in a confidential setting.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a type of anxiety disorder, can happen after a deeply threatening or scary event. Even if you weren't directly involved, the shock of what happened can be so great that you have a hard time living a normal life. Most PTSD therapies fall under the umbrella of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and have goals of improving your symptoms, teaching coping skills and restoring your self-esteem.
