Water (peeing) Problems

Hi, I am to say the least embarrassed about this issue and I am so hoping that a professional Urologist may be able to actually tell me what the issues are, and/or provide me with a remedy.
I have been to the GP and they were of absolutely no help at all, they never are, I started to leak/dribble about 8 weeks ago and obviously rather concerned because I could not stop it from happening now as of about 4 weeks ago I have absolutely NO control of my bladder at all, my water just keeps on coming out on its own accord. I have tried to stop myself from peeing in every way I can but it seems that my brain or something is just not controlling anything any more:( .
I am now in incontinence pads 24/7 due to having no control over myself water issues and I am at a loss as to what to do. As I stated the GP is about as much use as a wet paper bag! basically I am just left to it and have to put up with it, its so not fair. I also have a pain in my right testicle and that is there creating me even more inconvenience 24/7 (the pain that is). I am now at my wits end, I have suffered strokes in the past but have been lucky in such that I have not been adversely effected, except for some memory issues and am now so forgetful and confused at times. I do hope you may be able to shed some light on my issues as I am not getting anything positive from my GP or anyone else. I reside in Scotland (UK) so unfortunately cant get good treatment as others in USA. I am just 61 years of age if that helps in any way.

Re: Water (peeing) Problems

Dear Medina1956,

I am sorry to hear of your difficulties. But there is no easy fix. First you don't need a GP you need a Urologist who can investigate and see what is going on and what can be done. The strokes do complicate things (as they can make being continent difficult) and the investigations may not give you the answers you are looking for, for complete resolution. The reason you need a urologist is because your GP does not have the expertise or the equipment needed to investigate you appropriately. Practically speaking you need..............your urine to be checked for infection, you may need urodynamics, a flexible cystoscopy, an ultrasound, flow rate, post void residual. In the mean time ensure you are drinking 2L of fluid (not tea/coffee/fizzy fluid/alcohol) over the course of your day, so that you are drinking something every hour to remain hydrated. I know it is difficult to keep calm, but ask your GP to refer you to a Urologist. Good Luck!

Re: Water (peeing) Problems

Thanks so much for your kind response, appreciated. I was supposed to have been referred to a Urologist but that never happened, so maybe should try again, thanks again.
