My bladder
I am a 65 year old female and two years ago had an op. to widen my Urethra as I was getting recurring bladder infections due to not emptying the bladder fully. This has been great and made a big difference; I had never heard of this before. Just lately I 'sometimes' feel I have not emptied it fully and have to go again within half an hour but luckily there are no infections. I am not aware of this for about five minutes after having a wee so any tips other than sitting there for five minutes as it isn't every time. Thankyou. Jackie.

Re: My bladder
Hi Jackie,
It sounds like you had urethral stenosis or narrowing of the urethra which was dilated or widened. It maybe that it has narrowed down again. You may well not be emptying fully. When you do pee is it a good strong flow ?.
The only way we can really tell is if you have a flow rate ( where you pee in to a machine which measures the time it takes to empty) & a bladder scan to see if you are leaving any urine behind in your bladder. This would need to be done at a urology clinic.
Im glad youre not getting urine infections , i would drink 1 1/2 litres of fluid a day .

Re: My bladder
Thankyou for your reply. Most of the time the flow is normal but 25% of the time it is slower and weaker. I do drink a lot of fluids so it isn't that I am not flushing through. I am now thinking that the Urethra could be very slowly closing up again and I don't know why.
