Uretal stents

I currently have bilateral jj uretal stents, these were places prior to a hysterectomy which I had 4 weeks ago due to extensive adhesions around my left ureta and bladder. The stents cause me a lot of uretal pain, constant urge to pass urine even straight after a wee and I constantly feel nauseas, I’m still waiting for a date to have these removed. Will all the symptoms go once they are removed? I’m worried as even though I had the adhesions I’ve never had problems with my bladder until I had the stents fitted.

Re: Uretal stents

Good afternoon,
Im afraid the ureteric JJ stents do often cause horrid bladder irritation , pain, frequency of passing urine & sometimes blood in the urine. Its the end of the stent thats sitting in your bladder irritating the bladder wall & the constant urge to pee is the reaction to a forgien body (the stents) in the bladderThis will be resolved once they are removed & you should have no further bladder problems..
If you havent got a date for removal i would chase it up or they may want them to stay in for a certain length of time until everything heals..
Hope you get some relief soon.
