Small bumps on body and face

My 10 year old son has small bumps all his body and face. Some days they are more noticeable than others. The bumps do not cause any itchiness or redness.
I took him to to our go who didn't diagnose any condition and just gave some moisturizer, which did nothing.
My worry is twofold.
...what is his condition and is a a symptom of something more serious.
...What can be done to reduce these bumps, because as he gets older and more body conscious, it could effect his mental health and his ability to socialize.

Thank you, Mairtin

I am sorry to hear about your son problems Mairtin. Where about on the body does your son have bumps and how long has it been going on?

Thank you,

They are on his face and arms in the main, and wee groups on his torso.

He has had them a few years now.

I don't have them. I am a single dad.

Thank you.

Dear Mairtin,

thank you for more information. I wonder if it might be molluscum contagiosum viral rash, sometimes it can take longer to resolve. I think it would be very reasonable if you would ask you GP to refer you to a Dermatology Consultant to establish a diagnosis.

I hope this is helpful.
