Allergies linked with eczema and psoriasis

My daughter is 8 years old and suffers with eczema and psoriasis. I have spoken to the consultant and he said there is no link between allergies and psoriasis. I am concerned that there is an allergy or an intolerance. Is it worth speaking to my dr again about allergy testing? Within the last year she needed light therapy and immunosuppressant medication.

Have they done patch testing or an exclusion diet?

Thank you for your question.

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter.

There is no link between psoriasis and allergies so patch testing is not helpful. But sometimes eczema may be caused by external allergens and in such case patch testing test can be helpful. Your dermatologist should be able to arrange this.

I hope this is helpful.
