Eyelids

For the past 15 years I have had itchy eyes, on and off, that I was told was due to coming into contact with 'something'.I think the specialist called it contact dermatitis. At its worst my eyelids were very scaley and sore. When this happened I did have allergy tests done across my back for five days and there was nothing conclusive that came out of this. I was prescribed 1% Cortisone cream to rub on my eyelids when they were sore and I have carried on with this only when it is bad as I know it makes the skin thin. I now have the outside corners with splits which can sting and be very uncomfortable. These splits dry and start to get a flake of skin on them and when this gets washed off I am back to square one. I would appreciate any advice on this. Many thanks, Jackie.
I use Simple face wash as I found it better than soap.

I would stop washing your face with that soap. You've been 'sold' a product based on the name.Look at the website www.greenpeople.co.uk. They have a good facial wash, unscented and with no horrible ingredients.
Just a thought but your itchy eyes might be a sign of 'dry eye' which is a separate problem treated with eye drops.Need to ask your GP about that.
