Link between Sjogrens and allergies?

I was hoping that somebody could explain why since being diagnosed with Sjogrens a couple of years ago I have since developed allergies to a lot of chemicals. Some perfumes, cleaning products even scented candles make my mouth and lips swell slightly and my tongue sore. My doctor doesn't seem to know and didn't offer any advice except try to avoid them which is easier said than done.
I would like to know if there could be a connection.
Thank you, Amanda

Re: Link between Sjogrens and allergies?

Sjogren's - just like many other autoimmune conditions - can lead to angioedema (swelling of the skin) as your immune system can be 'overreactive' It is usually a non allergic reaction
