I have a history of urticaria, sore eyes, contact dermatitis, ibs, and probably more I’ve forgotren to add!
I was told I would be referred for allergy testing but at the last minute my GP decided not to.
I am really suffering at the moment with really painful sore eyelids and rashes and a constantly runny nose. I just want to know what’s causing this.
Is there anywhere I can go to get allergy testing done? Is it hard to be referred by your doctor?

You need to se a dermatologist to have allergy test for dermatitis (eczema), it is called patch testing. But you need to see an immunologist to get allergy testing for urticaria (nettle rash), it is called prick testing. Prick testing may also be helpful for hayfever.

as my colleague mentioned your should see a dermatologist for dermatitis and an allergist for your nasal symptoms. GP could send off specific IgE (RAST) to grass and tree pollen, house dust mites etc to investigate your nasal symptoms. Skin prick testing does not usually help with urticaria unless you suspect immediate reactions (within max 60 min) to food etc
