Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us for advice.

I think the first thing you need to do is to go back to your GP and tell them what you have told us and insist that you get additional support before you have your baby. Also, speak to your midwife so they can support you after the birth.

I would seriously consider getting the CBT privately as well if the waiting list is long as its vital to get on top of things before the baby comes. Look on this website for a suitable counselor near you. https://www.bacp.co.uk/

Being a parent really changes your perspective on things and will spur you on to want to make positive changes and improve your mental health so use this energy to help you get things sorted.

Look on the MIND website for additional help for SAD https://www.mind.org.uk/information-sup ... MiBiehKg60 and call them as well as they are very good at giving useful advice.

Take good care of yourself as well, eat well, exercise and try doing something like mindfulness or meditation every day, just 10 mins makes a really big difference. there are lots of free courses online to teach you mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

I hope you are able to really help yourself face your challenges before your baby comes and have fun as a parent it is such a precious time.

Good luck, Jayne
