Bleeding

About 5 years ago I had endometrial ablation due to very heavy painful periods. My bleeding completely stopped after the procedure. I have recently started getting regular spotting and bled a bit after a recent cervical smear. I advised the nurse about the spotting but nothing more was said - my smear result came back normal. Should I be concerned about the spotting - I am 47, in general good health and taking no medication.

Re: Bleeding

Sometimes the effect of the procedure wears off after a couple of years. I would ask your GP for an ultrasound of your pelvis to look at the uterus. The bleeding was provoked by the smear, but does that happen after intercourse? If so let your GP know.
