Complete prolapse

I had a hysterectomy 23 yrs ago because of cervical cancer. I have already had a bladder prolapse repair 2 yrs ago. My Gp now says I have a complete prolapse. She explained that not only have my bladder and bowel collapsed, the area where my uterus was had fallen down into my vagina. To say I feel uncomfortable is an understatement. I have to wait up to 22 wks for an appt with a gynaecologist. Why has this happened and what will they do.

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Not quite sure what they will do but 22 weeks for an apt seems to be the norm at the moment unless you request otherwise

Procedures for prolapse are becoming very specialised. There are very effective procedures available, including pulling up the top of the vagina and fixing from inside your pelvic cavity. I believe that many regions are developing specialist referral pathways. Meanwhile please keep doing pelvic floor exercises to ensure healthy pelvic floor muscles.
