i have been on hrt for nine yrs now (startrd at 55 now 63) i dont really want to be on it but evry time i try and come off it the flushes/night sweats symptoms come back with a vengence!.have tried patches and they gave me an allergic reaction to the glue!.im on a low dose premique 0.3mg tablet. doctor has told me ok to stay on and gave me the risks but still not happy taking them for all this time but know what it will be like if not on them.

the menopause symptoms can last for a while in some women and if you have the symptoms when you stop then you need to use something.
if the patches were no good you could look at lowering the risks slightly with using the oestrogen gel and progestogen tablets such as utrogestan. this may help with your symptoms and give you a slightly lower risks.
