Irregular periods and struggling to conceive

I stop taking the contraceptive pill 7 months ago to start trying to conceive. I had a vaginal ecography where they found I have micro policystic ovaries (back in September). Since then I've been taking some vitamins with folic acid, magnesium and zinc. I did not succeed in getting pregnant yet, which is something that me and my husband really want, but I know it can take time.
Meanwhile my period is very irregular. In the last 2 months I had my period approximately every 2 weeks and it usually lasts 7 to 10 days.
I started get worried about the polycystic ovaries syndrome, but I do not seem to present any symptom.
I would like to know if there is something wrong that is making it hard for me to conceive, but I've been told that the protocol is to start making tests only after 2 years trying. Is that correct?
What is your advice regarding this matter?

Thanks for your time

Hello

It seems PCOS is what you were told the diagnosis
I usually advise checking hormone tests testosterone and ultrasound
If irregular cycles you need to be seen by fertility specialist earlier than 12 months to start ovulation induction

All the best
