Disabled cannot be screened

I am wheelchair bound and I am told I cannot have Cervical Screening done because the clinic doesn’t have a hoist. They continued to send me reminders out so I asked them to stop sending the letters. In response to this the clinic said I need to sign a voluntary withdrawal form to say I don’t wish to be screened. I told them no! I want to be screened but I cannot be screened because they don’t have the required equipment for me, if I sign the form then it takes the blame/responsibility from them making it my fault not to forget about how worried I am about missing a test that could potentially save my life. What do I do?

Ask about a hospital appointment for one?

Re: Disabled cannot be screened

I would suggest that you ask your GP or practice nurse to refer you to the gynaecology or colposcopy department where they will have the equipment needed.
kind regards
