Recovery from hysterectomy
Hi,
I have struggled since Oct '16 with severe pain caused by gynae issues. It turned out I had "an unusual arrangement" (as my 1st specialist referred to it!!) consisting of a vaginal septum, two cervixes - one deformed, two uteruses - one childlike with fibroids, these were wrapped round my bowel, one of my ovaries had detached itself and reattached to my pelvic wall, one of my utero-sacral ligaments was missing, and lots of endometriosis.
I was referred to specialists in London and 13th Nov '18 and had everything removed. Thankfully I am now pain free and am keen to return to some sort of work. Unfortunately due to the unusual nature of my situation no one seems to be able to give me any clear advice on what I can do and when in terms of recovery and rebuilding my fitness. I am concerned about doing too much too soon, as I have been warned about this. I am also acutely aware I have an awfully long journey ahead due to being inactive for over two years and the strenuous nature of my work (as a cabinet maker) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Karen

Re: Recovery from hysterectomy
I think try and get back into your usual routine gradually... a bit more each time to build up strength and fitness. If you get pain or tired, stop, rest and try again. In a few months you’ll be back to normal!
