Hydration

As I get older I'm finding that it's harder to keep my skin supple and hydrated especially being a redhead and pale my skin just keeps flaking, even on my face.... what will help?

Re: Hydration

As we age, our skin becomes drier because of a decrease in the natural lipid and water content. I would recommend a dermatological grade moisturiser that contains urea (at least 10%), which is highly moisturising. You should moisturise at least twice a day. You should also use a soap substitute or fragrance-free oil when washing, as normal soaps and shower gel can worsen dryness. Gently pat your skin dry after washing and apply the moisturiser immediately afterwards as this helps to lock in moisture. At night time, you could use a paraffin based moisturiser. These tend to be greasy but can be very helpful.

I hope that this helps
