Very dry skin on my legs

What can I do about having very, very dry skin on my lower legs? No matter what creams I use daily in or out of the shower they are always dry and rough.

Re: Very dry skin on my legs

Dear Eleen,

I am so sorry to hear about your skin problem. Try to wash with ointments e.g. epaderm, hydromol, diprobase or cetrabene ointment. Try also to moisturise with a similar ointment - ointments work much better than cream or lotions. Remember not to rub an ointment against the grain - otherwise if can block hair folliculitis and cause folliculitis. If it is not enough your GP or your dermatologist can prescribe a steroid cream or ointment.

I hope this is helpful.
With Best Wishes,
