Lost my daughter now worried about my son

Hi
I lost my daughter 2 yrs ago after 6 yrs of battling anorexia, depression, PTSD and self harm, I have had counselling however I am worried about my son. He is 19 (17when his sister died) unemployed and is living with me, he rarely goes out (most friends at uni) his eating is erratic,he smoked cannabis and is obviously depressed, he wont see a gp or even a youth counsellor how can I help him? He seems to have lost all his confidence especially where photography is relative and this is what he wanted to follow career wise.
Help I'm so scared that I will lose him too.

Re: Lost my daughter now worried about my son

Hi

Thank you for sharing your difficult story and I appreciate your honesty with the situation with your son. It sounds like your son is struggling with some personal issues and I am sorry to hear that he is unwilling to participate in any counseling which may be of great help to him. I would encourage you to remain supportive and offer empathy towards his feelings which will allow him to feel comfortable and encourage him to seek help. Sometimes the hardest thing can be to just ask for help.

Please feel free to read some of my blogs so that you may have further insight into his issues available on variety of topics.
