Has you mother been to her GP? They can refer her to a physiotherapist who can offer different forms of treatment.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the pain your mother is experiencing. I agree with Paul I would see if she can speak to her GP as he may be able to help her with her pain management/treatment.

This blog may be useful also on back pain and bedtime...

I find with my back pain is if I sleep in the same position long enough I start to cease up and if I change position it still hurts but tends to ease slowly, laying on my back is a no no for me as I have both lumbar and thorax back problems. I suggest speaking to your GP as an xray may be required just to rule out anything untoward

Hi,
How old is your mother? Is she taking any medicine for the back pain? Before she goes to bed ask her to do some light exercises for her back. It can sometimes reduce the back pain.

I will also suggest for some exercise on back, and request her to sit straight on chair.

Thank you, its helpfull. I will try it out too. I got some pain in my back when i sleep. I think its becouse of bad bed. But still try it.

Yes, bad bed structure can cause back pain. Ideally the bed should be neither too soft nor too stiff. There are many types of mattresses available which can be beneficial to relieve your pain. Also, make sure that the stiffness or height of your pillow is correct. If your head rests too high it can strain your neck and cause back pain.

Hope this helps!
