bladder weakness

i am 34 and have never had children. I have always had a problem with some leakage and i wear a pad everyday. I go to the toilet a few times during the day and at least 2 times during the night. The need to pee can come quite quickly. Would exercises help ir should i be getting checked. Thanks

Thanks for your post.
It sounds from your post like you have a degree of bladder over activity. Being up twice in the might and having a sudden urge to go corrolate with this diagnosis. It would be worth doing a few things to check. Firstly make sure you’re not suffering from a low level bladder infection. A simple urine sample to check at your doctors can exclude this. While you are there tell your Dr. S/he can take a formal history of your symptoms and give you some general advice to help and also prescribe some medications that may give you some relief at night and also help that leak you’re getting. Simple things to stop or reduce your symptoms you can do now are to stop smoking, (if you do), reduce foods and fluids that contain citrus, caffeine, alcohol, spice and refined sugar. By cutting back on these you can help reduce the urge to go.
Pelvic floor exercise will help you, they will help keep you dry when you get the sudden urge to urinate. There are several good websites with exercise regimens and many apps to assist in remembering.

I would suggest referral to the local community continence service who will assess you and arrange referral to a specialist as appropriate.
