Non-acceptance of Incontinence diagnosis

How do you persuade a stubborn middle-aged woman with advancing MS, who refuses to accept her incontinence diagnosis, despite furniture & clothing wetting, to wear protective underwear?

Re: Non-acceptance of Incontinence diagnosis

I think its a difficult issue - persuading patients to seek help for urinary incontinence is a bit of a taboo subject. It may be better to see if this individual would be willing to talk to a health care professional as we could offer alternatives to pads/containment and even prevent the incontinence all together with simple treatments.

Re: Non-acceptance of Incontinence diagnosis

This needs a specialist nurse community practitioner to discuss matters with her and help you persuade her that there are treatments which can be instituted.
