Catheters
I have been using Coloplast size 10 catheters for 3 years now, but I find that after using the catheter, my urethra feels very sore.
I do get a few urine infections throughout the year, and wonder if the problem with the catheter is causing these infections. I did get sepsis last year with a Irvine infection.

Re: Catheters
There are a host of ISC catheters available - perhaps trial a few different types that may be more comfortable for you. Also important to make sure you are not getting catheter associated infections.

Re: Catheters
Thank you for your message. Some post-menopausal women also find that using a vaginal oestrogen cream can help reduce the risk of infections and improve some of the soreness from catheterisation. If this is relevant to you it may be worth discussing with your GP.

Re: Catheters
You need to be seen by the specialist nurse advisory service at community level, there is usually a community continence nurse who would be well versed in the different devices and who can suggest alternative catheters.
