Hello,

Scarring left by acne can be distressing and it is possible if it affecting your mood for you to gain access to psychological support. The first thing to do is to talk to your GP. In some NHS areas there are dedicated psychological support services for people living with skin conditions. Sometimes these services are provided within the dermatology clinic and sometimes by local psychological hospital clinicians or by practitoners working in Increasing Access to Psychpological Therapy (IAPT) services. There is also advice and support available online and The British Association of Dermatologists has a skinsupport.org website and also an acne specific website. The charity Changing Faces can also offer psychological support and possibly provide access to specialist camouflage. In some areas dermatology departments can also advise or provide access to specifically formulated camouflage products.

Best wishes,

Andrew

Hi,

Of course. Not all acne scarring needs laser treatments. Simple measures such as skin microneedling, chemical peels, punch excision, subcision all can help depending upon type of scarring.

Best to see a dermatologist who undertakes these procedures routinely.
