Teenage Skin

Hi as a parent I would like to know
what is the best skincare products for my daughter she regularly has lots of spots
some acne some just general she is 15 and plays a lot of sports, we have tried most
things so help please.

Hello, thank you for your question.

As a 15 year old acne is common. In the milder cases, over the counter products that are designed for more oily acne-prone skin may be sufficient. These will typically include active anti-acne ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and lactic acid. In more persistent or severe cases, particularly if the acne is starting to affect your daughter's psychological well-being she should see her GP in the first instance for prescription medication such as antibiotic creams or tablets. Sometimes the contraceptive pill can be helpful in treating acne.
