Chronic Kidney Renal Failure

Hi,
I am 65 years of age and lost my right kidney in 2004 due to hydronephrosis and other problems. Since then I have maintained fairly well on one kidney and have regular kidney function tests (6 monthly). my medical records show me at Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Renal Disease, what does this mean for me at my age. My GP says I cannot take NSAIDS for my arthritis as this would shorten my life with reference to my kidney. I am worried about getting ill as I get older and concerned about renal failure, Thanks for listening.
