Protein in urine

I have protein in my urine.
What can I do to sort the problem out?
I am also diabetic.
Thank you.

Re: Protein in urine

It all depends how much protein there is coming through
1 plus on a dipstick is minimal but 3-4 is significant
The protein may be caused by the diabetes- always worth making sure the HbA1c is as low as possible- ie your diabetes control.
but there are other causes
If your kidney function is fine ie eGFR and creatinine then it may not need anything doing.
If kidney function poor then a referral to a renal physician might be indicated.
it is possible to do other blood tests for protein/creatinine and a 24 hour urine test to investigate further
