Kidney pain with UTI

Hi there, I have consistent UTI it clears up after 10 days of antibiotics then returns, I have a catheter fitted which is changed every 5 weeks, with the UTI I have severe kidney pain in the right side, any help please, Ken

Hi Ken
(I presume it is a long-term catheter?)
Just a few things to keep in mind
1. Treatment (in catheterised patients) should always be based on symptoms and positive urine culture
2. Urine culture has been done
3. Renal tract ultrasound to rule out kidney or bladder stones
If UTIs persist despite that then a cystoscopy should be done along with bladder washout which might be helpful in some cases.
