Family history of eczema

All my family have suffered eczema and been given creams to help with that. Recently I have been getting sore areas on my hands mostly around my knuckles and in between my fingers. I have not been to a doctors because I am not sure if it is eczema or not. Please could you give me any advice.

Thank you

Re: Family history of eczema

Dear Debra,

thank you for your question. I am afraid eczema often runs in families due to genetic reasons. It sounds like you may be suffering from eczema too. I think it would be a good idea to see your GP or dermatologist to confirm it and give you stronger treatments if required. Meanwhile try to use a greasy moisturisers for example Epaderm ointment - you can use it to moisturise your hands and also as a soap and shoer gel substitute.

I hope this is helpful.
