eczema on inner elbow

Why do I get eczema on my inner elbow on the place where they take blood and no other area. When stressed it swells and itches then hives.
Hydrocortisone works and any stress brings it back.

Dear Naomi,

Thank you for your question. Nobody knows why it happens but skin folds skin (elbow flexures, behind knees and so on) seems to be prone to dermatitis more than other areas of skin. It has been suggested that the skin in these areas might be different on the molecular level but this has never been proven - more research is needed to answer your question.
