15 year old son, severe eczema since a baby
My son (aged 15) is suffering with constant flare-ups, he's recently finished a short course of oral steroids which seemed to help, but once the course has been completed, he immediately flares-up again. Currently using:
Dermol 200
Dermol 500
Betmovate C
Tacrolimus (eye lids)
Lubricating eye drops (due to re-occurring shield ulcer)
Opatanol
Oilatum shampoo
Cetirizine
hydramol and cetraban
Promethazine (at night)
And we are still struggling to manage flare-ups, It's really starting to effect him mentally not just physically as it's knocking his confidence as well as feeling extremely painful. He also suffers from a lot of allergies and carries an Epi-pen at all times, he also has asthma, Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated

Thank you for your question. I am so sorry to hear how much your son is suffering.
It sounds that he needs a next line of treatment which can be a special UVB hospital light or a powerful oral medication such as ciclosporin or methotrexate or even an injection called a biologic. If it is of interest you can read more about these treatments on my website www.alexandroff.org.uk but I think what you should do is to see your dermatologist and discuss these treatments with him.
I hope this is helpful.
