Average detox time for alcohol and effects on brain?

I'd like to ask how long it takes for the average person to clear the effects of, say, weekend bender from their system? As in, not thinking 'drunkanese' when you think you should be sober? This seems to clear up before the sleep issues, which, as we age, often doesn't seem to kick in before another weekend. I am regularly ducking out of my own social life unless I feel strong enough to stick with the lime-n-soda. I don't think I've really given myself the chance to clear all the toxins. Would a month do it?

Hi thanks for the question, it takes an average human about 30 minutes to clear the effects of a unit of alcohol, so it should not really take more than a a couple of days to clear the effects.
