Trouble sleeping

I am a good sleeper but my partner snores a lot. Is there anything I could do about this. My partner smokes and I am worried that this may be the cause of his snoring.

Re: Trouble sleeping

Thanks for your message.

Having a partner who snores can be extremely annoying especially when it impacts on your sleep.

Smoking can cause snoring as it irritates the membranes in the nose and throat which can block the airways. Alcohol can also cause snoring.

Loud snoring can be the first sign of the sleep disorder, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. This is where a person snores, holds their breath, gasps and then starts again. If you think this is happening, I would recommend your partner sees his GP.
