I've never been a good sleeper, takes me hours and hours to drop off.
I have so much going round in my mind. I have tried switiching off the computer an hours before going to bed. Read, hat a hot drink. Kalms tablets, bach remedies, you name it,
Tried meditating but find it hard to shut off.
Now I have my husband who can't sleep. He can drop off quick but not stay asleep for more than an hour.

Sorry to hear that, it's very frustrating when you can't fall asleep or stay asleep.

I can see that you're obviously practicing some good sleep hygiene. You don't say what hot drink you have before bed, if it's caffeine then swap to a caffeine free alternative. There are also a couple of other things you could also put into place like avoiding alcohol in an evening and writing down any thoughts before bed. Do you exercise at all?

Can you pinpoint when this started? Was there anything that kick-started struggling to fall asleep? Change in finances, work etc.

If this has been going on longer than three months for at least three nights in every week, then it might be wise if you speak to your GP. It would be useful for them if you have filled in a sleep diary (you can find one on the Sleep Council website) for two weeks so they can look at your lifestyle and sleep patterns.
