I have suffered from severe Urticaria for some few years now and although I take a high antihistamine tablet I would like to find some other alternative treatment pls?
Many thanks

Re: Severe Urticaria

Dear Decima,
Thanks for your message. From the brief history I suspect you have a condition called chronic spontaneous urticaria. This is generally well controlled with high dose anti-histamine which would be the best and safest first line treatment and the condition can often burn it self out although it can take several years. However if you are still getting breakouts despite being on maximal anti-histamine treatment as directed by your doctor then it would be worth getting referred to a Dermatologist or Immunologist for consideration of some more stronger options, such as Omalizumab. Hope this helps.
