Daughter has a lot of allergies and severe asthma

When my daughter was 2 she ate a pistachio nut ,she right away went into anaphylactic shock ,which to be honest I knew nothing about or that she had this , the only the thing we were aware of is that she had really bad asthma . So she spent 6 days in hospital trying to recover ,it took a lot of adrenaline injections to even start the swelling going down . She had the skin prick test in 2015 when she was 11 ,as we were told she may grow out of it , it showed she allergic to all 6 different nuts they tested ,peanut ,cashew nut ,pistachio, walnut ,almond and hazelnuts and that it was now considered life long but they would repeat in 3rd or 4th year at secondary school which should be soon .during this time her asthma has continued to get worse ,so they then done a.RAST test for air allergens in 2017 which should she is allergic to grass pollen but not tree pollen ,house dust mites , horse dander (which we discovered accidentally ourselves) cat dander ,and dogs , they also discovered she had a raised IGE of 2010 ,which I was told was rare for her age group ,
Abi has now tried lots of treatments for her asthma which have seen no improvement, we tried medication , inhalers , so it got so bad we were approved for the Omalizumab 900mgs every fortnight which was 3 injections into each of her legs ,she looked so small ,I mean she isn’t the tallest of kids but I felt so helpless but I thought if it helps so be it ,well they didn’t .we are now trying Mepolizumab 100mg every 4 weeks ,which is one injection in her arm . It has helped a bit but she still has her bad days .
Has anyone been through this or has anyone got any advise , I feel we are getting no where slowly all I want is for her to feel well like my other three kids ,they have nothing and she seems to have got it all .she is coming 16 this July and I am feeling kind of helpless as it keeps getting closer to her taking the next steps in her life .
Even if there isn’t much advice for me I hope anyone reading this and they are in similar situation you can see your not the only going through theses things and that your doctors etc will try everything they possibly can to help make your child have a better life .

Re: Daughter has a lot of allergies and severe asthma

Thank you for your post,
Your daughter's allergic conditions are clearly on the more severe end of the spectrum. I really hope the specialist treatments being considered/tried will help her, I have seen similar patient's lives completely turn around after starting the right monoclonal.
