Recovery

Hi,

Diagnosed with SIBO and iGA gliadin, and a number of IgG food intolerances. Itching with food has got worse with SIBO - some itching with all food. Once SIBO resolved, will my itching improve naturally? Or will I need some additional form of treatment? I've been avoiding the worst foods for many months now, but the itching hasn't really improved when I try again.

Thanks.

Re: Recovery

Thank you for your message.
I would really encourage that you seek a referral from your GP to an NHS allergist and possible also a gastroenterologist re: the SIBO/your IgA Gliadin testing. An allergist will be able to make an assessment on the symptoms you describe with a more detailed allergy focused history and testing where appropriate. Unfortunately there is no current scientific evidence to support IgG testing to guide food eliminations - it is unfortunate that this test marketed widely to the general public, desperate to find solutions to very real and troublesome symptoms.
