antibiotics

I don't know if this topic fits in here or not?.
Whatever drug you take you get side effects I appreciate. Recently finished a 3 day course of Antibiotics which were for a UTI, tried to rid myself of this but drinking a lot etc but no avail. Anyway I seem to get a quite bad reaction to them,( not the uti) diarrhoea, shivering hot aching, so really flu like symptoms. I thought them seemed more than I would expect as it laid me up for a couple days. This happened to me couple times before as well. I was just curious if this seems normal reaction. I have always understood I was allergic to penicillin but told this isn't in the last batch I had. Anyway I wondered if more of an allergic reaction.
