Re: What's the sign?

Hi there

The perimenopause begins when you first notice symptoms arrive. You could start to feel a little flushed or get easily flustered or feel overwhelmed in situations that you would normally be able to cope with just fine. You might find that it starts to become difficult to get to sleep in the nights leading up to your period and you may find yourself waking during the night feeling warmer than usual and needing to push the duvet aside to cool down.

Anxiety is a very common symptom so it very normal to start to feel worried about things that you have previously had no concerns about, and for some women this may build into panic attacks.

Another sign that the perimenopause has arrived is that you could experience random days when you feel completely tired, fatigued and lacking in motivation or that your mood drops - all for now apparent reason.

These symptoms may all be so subtle at first that if could take a while before you really acknowledge them. It might not be until your first full blown hot flush, night sweat or moody outburst that you have a light bulb moment and realise that you are definitely not feeling yourself and that fluctuating hormones are contributing to your condition.

Re: What's the sign?

Often women don’t recognise they have started perimenopause because we women are used to putting up with a lot!
More women c/o feeling tired, joint pains are more common than flushes. Weight gain is common and new anxiety or feeling overwhelmed.
Period cycle gets shorter. So sometimes the symptoms are subtle.
