Smear test as a virgin

I'm nearly 25 and have had a letter to say that I will soon by invited for a smear test, I am a virgin and obviously never had sex, do I need a smear test at this time, will this break my hymen and could I wait till after I've lost my virginity?

I have always wanted to keep my virginity till I was married, hopefully by the end of this year

Many thanks, Jasmine

Re: Smear test as a virgin

Hi Jasmine , can we suggest that you talk this through with your GP practice and ask if you can wait till you are married. This is clearly important to you , and as you have had no sexual contact up to this point , it is unlikely that there will be any changes to your cervix. putting your first test back a few months should make no difference in this situation so just talk to them and explain.
Happy Wedding Day !
