Hysterectomy recommended at 39

I have fibroids and andenomyosis which is literally hell every month, I’m on morphine and it barely touches the pain. My gynaecologist is recommending a hysterectomy. I also suffer with chronic back pain so he has suggested doing key hole surgery to help lessen recovery time. I’m very nervous and don’t know what to expect. I’ll be keeping my ovaries as I’m only 39. Will I go through a pre menopause?
Thanks, Chana

Hi Chana,
We are sorry to hear about the pain you are going through.
So if your ovaries are not removed you won't experience early menopause.
You will however be relieved of your cyclical periods and hopefully therefore the pain.
We wish you well.
