Why are there no annual check-ups in the UK?

I come from the Czech Republic and we have annual check-ups which include breast check, ultrasound and smear test.

I feel like there's no prevention here, only cure once you already have problems. And then you have to go through referrals and endless waiting.

Hello there, so we do have screening here on the NHS ;

We have a cervical and breast screening programme that bases the age of starting and interval of check - ups on evidence based guidelines.
Ultrasound screening has been proven not to be useful except for in high risk populations.

You are so right though , screening is REALLY important , we need to encourage every one to attend when invited !
