Thinning Skin

Hi,
I’m a 59 year old woman with a variety of health problems (T2 diabetes/OA/MVD) and I have noticed more recently that the skin on my arms and hands, in particular, appears to be thinning. In addition the veins in my right arm have become very prominent on the back of my arm, standing out through the skin quite noticeably. The left arm doesn’t do this and the skin doesn’t appear quite so thin.
Is there a reason for this and anything I should or shouldn’t be doing. It is quite disconcerting.

Re: Thinning Skin

Thank you very much for your question. It would be useful to moisturise your skin e.g. with epaderm or cetraben cream. You can also wash with these creams instead of soap. If this does not help it would be helpful to see your GP or dermatologist.

I hope this is helpful.
