Dry skin on mouth

Hello, my 15 year old daughter has a area of dry/red skin that appears around the corner of her mouth (just one side). It does not itch.

We have tried various creams such as Vaseline, hydrocortisone and moisturisers. But nothing has worked.

Do you have any advice as to what this skin condition is and treatment.

Thank you Barbara

Re: Dry skin on mouth

Dear Barbara,

Thank you for your question. This might be chelitis due to lack of certain vitamins. You may like to ask your GP to check some blood tests. YOur GP or dermatologist may also prescribe Daktacort ointment.

I hope this is helpful.
